The squads have been released for the much anticipated Battle of Oxford Road between Manchester Metropolitan University and Manchester University on Saturday (17:00 Face Off)

The University of Manchester will be lead by Ben Chappell with B team top scorer Rocky Bhala and Team GB’s Charlotte Cramp as assistant captains. University of Manchester also have joint top A team goalscorer Dominik Weaver in their ranks and C team leading points scorer Faisal Alasseri. Jake Frost has 14 assists this season for the A team alongside Harvey Stone who has 16 goals for the C’s boosting the UOM attacking presence. Tegan Lavery continues as NM with an impressive save percentage for the women’s side with 0.95 and only conceding 5 goals from 93 shots while also featuring for the A team.

Manchester Metropolitan University will be lead by joint B team point scorer Daniel Frewin with Paddy Horner and the Checking 2 Division North top points scorer and joint goal leader Kai Gennoe as assistant captains. Met will also feature Dylan Strickland who is joint top points scorer for the B team and Katie Fairclough who leads the way for the most goals for the Women’s side. Chris Kelly Wong who has 13 assists this season for the A team and John McSwiggen who claims the most assists for the C team with 12 are playmakers to watch out for. Maddy Trunchion has been a good form for the B’s this season and starts in net for the Mets conceding 25 goals in 7 games after facing 302 shots.

TICKETS STILL REMAIN for Saturday’s match priced at £6 and almost 400 have been sold so far. The University of Manchester fans will be in blocks 101-108 while Manchester Met will take blocks 110-117. A reminder that Saturday’s match WILL NOT be live streamed on YouTube so the only way to watch this exciting match is at Altrincham Ice Rink.
