Preview | Manchester Metros A Vs Sheffield Bears B

Written by club volunteer, Leon Higgins.

The Metros return to Planet Ice Altrincham (23:00 face off) to host Sheffield Bears in quest of the Checking Division 2 North title. Defeat last time out to Northumbria Kings still means the Metro’s are heavy favourites for the title. Victory over Sheffield would mean Northumbria Kings have to beat Glasgow Stags next week (Wednesday 12th March) by at least 34 points to get back the goal difference. Metro’s goal difference stands at +39 compared to Northumbria’s +6.

Speaking ahead of the game league top points scorer Dominik Weaver said:

“Everyone is ready, we know what we have to do to win this league. We were frustrated with the performance last game and we know that we are a better team than that”

The Bears come into this game off a 3-1 win at Glasgow which followed a 5-2 home defeat to Northumbria. Prior to the turn of the year Sheffield have run out 8-4 winners at home to Glasgow before loses at Northumbria (4-1) and a agonising 8-7 defeat to the Metros at IceSheffield back in December.
